Colorado New Year’s Eve DUI Enforcement Plans Revealed

If your New Year’s Eve plans include being out and about and offering toasts to old Father Time, resolve to ride with a designated driver or take a taxi home, because police officers across the state have plans to be out in force.

Luckily for Coloradans, the generosity of public and private entities are making it easier than ever to allow people to make the kind of responsible choices that will get people home safely. In the Denver area, free bus and light rail service will be available on New Year’s Eve from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. New Year’s Day. Visit RTD Denver for more information.

Make a resolution not to drink and drive

Farther afield, Miller Coors and participating restaurants are helping support free rides in Colorado Springs and $10 cab vouchers in Northern Colorado.  For specific locations, visit the Colorado Department of Transportation or No DUI Colorado.

The ramped-up, end-of-year enforcement marks the end of Colorado’s Heat Is On! program for the year. More than 375 people were arrested across the state for drinking and driving at this time last year.

The Colorado Department of Transportation provided the following information regarding enforcement plans from December 28 through January 2:
